Ari’s Bar Mitzvah celebration took his guests on an adventure full of magic and mystique that lasted all weekend long!
Saturday night’s party took place at the Cobb Energy Center, and featured some of the coolest performers we have ever seen.
The party kicked off with the adults in cocktail hour, noshing on delicious cuisine such as a mushroom and brie tart, chipotle chicken skewer, lamb lollipop and some pretty amazing sushi. While they ate, they were entertained by strolling acrobats (well, maybe they were doing back flips rather than strolling) and dazzled by Josh and Ken’s strolling magic.
Joshua Jay has been called magic’s Renaissance man by MAGIC Magazine. Jay has performed in over fifty countries and appears regularly on national television (most recently on Good Morning America and the Today Show). At only seventeen years old Joshua Jay was crowned world champion for close-up magic at the World Magic Seminar, and he is now regarded as one of the leading creative forces in the magic world.
Ken Scott has over 20 years of experience, performing over 350 shows a year. He has entertained over a million people with his unique cutting edge programs. Ken is a THREE time winner of the Greater Atlanta Magician of the year award. In addition, Ken was also featured on CNN Headline News, where he headlined their segment on A Day of Magic. Ken performs yearly in Hollywood California at The World Famous Magic Castle, which is home to the Academy of Magical Arts. Ken has also performed five times at the White House.
Needless to say, the guests were MORE than impressed with Ari’s star studded guest list, and we must say, we were too. They were amazing!
Once it was time to be moved into the main event, the guests were led by stilt walkers and then immediately treated to a Magic Show! Josh and Ken were joined by Kevin Spencer, another talented magician who is also a world-renowned Illusionist with dozens of accolades to his credit. He and his wife, Cindy, were the recipients of the Merlin Award for International Magicians of the Year (2009) and six-time recipients of Performing Arts Entertainer of the Year. Most recently, the Milbourne Christopher Foundation honored them as Illusionists of the Year (2015). Soooooo yeah, amazing.
And just in case you were wondering if this party had even MORE entertainment, it did! Caricaturist Mark Mandel was onsite to create awesome keepsakes for both kids and grown-ups alike, and Button it Up green screen made sure that everyone got their sillies out taking photos with fun props.
With all of the magical excitement, we almost forgot to mention the amazing job Wilbur from Eventscapes did on the décor, and how awesome DJ Atlanta Fever was in keeping the crowd pumped for this very different and unique party.
This particular post has a TON of photos we just couldn’t leave out and we’d like to thank Laura with Vosamo for all of these awesome shots.
Saturday night’s party was so awesome, we bet it’s hard to believe that there’s more!
Sunday’s Magic Show, held at the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, was a packed show and all of Saturday’s night’s magicians performed along with the star of the show himself, Ari.
Carnival Promotions provided popcorn for the guests and the show was amazing. Ari is so charismatic and comfortable on the stage and you could see his parents, Doug and Leslie, beaming with pride from the sidelines.
The ticket sales benefitted Hocus Focus and the Blonder Department at the JCC, and all of the guests were so impressed by the performances of all of the acts.
Our favorite? The finale. Ari (with the help of a few volunteers) locked himself in a box with his hands locked in handcuffs, and through some crazy bit of magic we can’t even BEGIN to understand, managed to disappear and pull his lovely assistant, his cousin, out of the box instead!

We had SUCH a great time at this weekend long event and were so entertained that we almost forgot we were working! Great job, Ari!
Dad Testimonial: “Our event was a huge success because of Tara! She is professional, knowledgeable, organized, practical, efficient and a great communicator. We can’t wait to use her again!” Doug Isenberg
