WOW! What a Party!

With 400 Volunteers, 700 Guests, 75 Babies in our Kids II Inc. Baby Room, 2,000 Presents, 500 Pictures with Santa, 800 Pairs of Carter’s Pajamas, 1,200 Lunches from Atlanta Bread Company, Mellow Mushroom, Flying Biscuit, and more! and 1 Incredible Location – The Defoor Centre, Amy’s 2011 Holiday Party was a HUGE success!

We could not be more thrilled with the success of our 2011 Amy’s Holiday Party. Thanks to ALL of our unbelievably hard-working and dedicated volunteers as well as our incredibly generous donors and sponsors. This year’s main event was the best yet! It was an incredible experience to watch our guests’ faces light up when they walked into the Toy Room, danced with our VIBE DJ, played Burgess carnival games, made Home Depot tool boxes, and took pictures with Santa from On the Spot Memories.

As a continuous 17 year tradition, Amy’s Holiday Party once again provided Christmas to over 700 homeless, foster and refugee children. Without the untiring efforts of everyone involved, the guests would not have Christmas!

We could not have made so many children so very happy without the generous support, time and the donated venue of the Defoor Centre.

Balloonacy donated their time to come out and bring smiles to all of the children’s faces when they saw all of the fun and colorful balloons!

2,000 TOYS! TOYS! TOYS!

Skateboards, Trucks, Make Up, Dolls, Board Games, Basketballs, Stuffed Animals,

Purses, Sunglasses, Poker sets, Arts and Craft kits, Building blocks, Tea sets,

Snuggies, Barbies, Soccer balls, and on and on….

What more could one want?

Santa was there to take pictures with each child and after Santa handed each child a candy cane, we handed out new toothbrushes and toothpaste for each child.

Carters Cares donated a pair of pajamas to each child that attended the party and created a reading lounge where they read and gave books to each child in attendance.

A donation of all types of arts and crafts for the children to participate in card making, sand art, reindeer puppets, ornament making delighted the guests. Home Depot brought out all of their supplies to help the kids in attendance each make their own tool boxes.

Burgess Amusements provided great games for all the kids to play.

Lunches were donated from many different vendors but the kids LOVED the pizza donated by Mellow Mushroom.

We could not have done this event without our sponsors and Color Spot who made the signs.

Every child deserves to celebrate and be celebrated! MERRY CHRISTMAS!

A Bar Mitzvah Celebration for the STARS!

With the decor by Let’s Celebrate, delicious food catered by Added Touch Catering, and music by the DJ, Horizon, the Bar Mitzvah boy, family and friends celebrated in style.

Check out the place cards created by Dear Greer Designs, Ink to look like the tickets that one finds on a will call board at the theater. How creative!

The snazzy red carpet entrance to the area where the adults indulged in cocktail hour made family and friends feel like they had walked the “red carpet” at a Hollywood movie premiere!

The Bar Mitzvah boy’s friends joined him in this exciting area of the celebration room with the large sign that appears in the above photo and with the decor that appears below, as well.

The yummy appetizers for the kids appealed to their palates!

The centerpieces for the tables were topped with signs naming different movies supported by a base filled with popcorn. The movie theme was adhered to in great detail pleasing the Bar Mitzvah boy and his family!

What a magical movie-themed celebration for the Bar Mitzvah boy!

At the Westin Perimeter Atlanta North Hotel, the first “green” Bat Mitzvah celebration event was held.

Kim Nicholson provided the decor using materials that were recyclable. She collected items for months to have what she envisioned to use for the “green” theme. The decor was amazing!

Representing the Bat Mitzvah girl’s love of the color green as well as her passionate commitment to living her life in as “green” a manner as possible, her expectations were truly met. In addition to the Bat Mitzvah girl’s joy, her parents had been married at the venue and felt an extra special feeling for celebrating the life event of their daughter’s Bat Mitzvah at the amazingly decorated room at the Westin.

Keeping the environmentally conscious theme, instead of escort cards and wasting paper, Kim designed the board featured below, on a palette created from recycled brown paper bags. The charming display contained a list of who was seated at each table. This very different display was loved by the guests because they were able to see who they would sit with for the party, which was an additional and unexpected benefit.

Even the check box where guests could drop off gifts in a secure way promoted the environmentally conscious theme and was cleverly decorated.

The kids’ tables had newspapers printed with the Bat Mitzvah girl’s name and 2 liter bottles cut to hold M&Ms in her favorite colors.

Check out this large display that became the focal point for the front of the room!

Check out the party favors for all of the kids to take when they left. The cans had seeds inside for everyone to plant and continue to make the world green when they got home.

At most celebrations, shoes are scattered everywhere. Featured below is a great place for guests to put their shoes. How practical and creative!

At the Tongue and Groove venue, a wiz at Rubik’s Cube celebrated his Bar Mitzvah with his family and friends. Let’s Celebrate provided all the creative decorations. The delicious and appetizing food was catered by Zest Atlanta. A big thank you to Scenesations’ Patti Colvert who photographed the festivities and permitted Bluming Creativity to post the following photos!

The festivities began with an entrance on “The Red Carpet.”

The large bar in the middle of the room featured a Rubiks cube, representing the Bar Mitzvah boy’s expertise at “doing” the “cube” like a pro!

In a different area of the club, check out the large white lights on the top right is the DJ booth!

Zest Atlanta catered a menu of fun food.

BBQ sliders, Beef Hot Dogs, Thai Noodles in Chinese Food Containers, Fried Chicken Tenders, a Mac and Cheese Bar with Multiple Toppings, and a Selection of Fresh Fruit enticed the Bar Mitzvah boy, his family and guests!

A Rubik’s Cube was offered as a favor to all the guests at the end of the celebration!

At the venue of Studio 887, Bold American catered a gourmet wedding celebration. Desmond Thomas, AAA DJ Services provided music for the bride, groom, their families and guests. Tulip, www.bytulip.com, decorated the venue exquisitely and provided flowers that garnished the chuppah, tables, and the bridal party participants. With chair covers and gigantic purple bows, the ceremony and dining chairs popped purple!

An added touch to personalize the celebration was popcorn provided by Popcorn Palladium.

The programs, kippot, photos of the families through the generations, and a sign-in book greeted the guests.

Table names were all different cities in California that the bride and groom were going to visit on their honeymoon.

Check out the chocolate cake with strawberries for the groom’s cake and the traditional wedding cake designed and baked by Publix!

A candy and popcorn bar for the guests to enjoy during the festivities or take from as they leave, sweetened the party. The groom is a foodie and loves popcorn so small bags in different flavors were offered for the guests to indulge!

Check out the stickers with the initials KM and the wedding date that were placed on the different flavors of popcorn bags!

The venue of the 755 Club at Turner Field offered an ambiance for a recent wedding. With The Goodfriend Catering Company catering delicious and appetizing Kosher food and the Tevyeh Band providing the music, the bride, groom, family and guests celebrated a wonderful, memorable wedding event!

The wedding guests were able to overlook where the old Turner Field used to be.

Dear Greer Designs, Ink. designed escort cards that were replicas of baseball tickets. The cards were placed in trays with peanuts at the bottom. Set up to look like “Will Call.”

Dear Greer Designs also designed the pennants that served as the table numbers.

Check out the second design for the centerpieces that were tall glass vases set in natural grass. The vases were filled with Braves’ Baseballs, peanuts, Cracker Jacks, and “cotton candy.”

A Kosher cake designed and baked by Publix sat on a table that featured bride and groom bobble-head dolls wearing Braves’ hats. The dolls looked just like the bride and groom!

Play ball!

At The Temple for a fall wedding, Talk of the Town catered a delicious, memorable event with Lethal Rhythms, the DJ providing the music.
The chuppah in the chapel was garnished with birds of paradise, the bride and groom’s favorite flower. Family tallism provided the covering for the chuppah, as well.

The delicious cocktail hour display offered fruits, cheeses, dips, spreads, breads, and so many other delicacies!

During cocktail hour, numerous high tables with purple candles and rose petals on them offered the guests a place to enjoy!

The bride and groom wanted salmon-colored and purple flowers to pick up the colors from the birds of paradise. Flowers by Joan incorporated other fall colors through the use of real fallen leaves, with two different arrangement designs for centerpieces scattered on tables throughout the venue.

The bridal and bridesmaid bouquets made up the table centerpiece and decor for the bride and groom’s table.

The delicious and beautiful wedding cake from Publix featured a Mickey groom and Minnie bride figurine.

Simple elegance describes the chuppah at Temple Sinai.

With the reception at Dunwoody Country Club, the mother of the bride went above and beyond with the addition of raspberry sticks placed on each table as well as the hiring of a vintage Rolls Royce for the bride and groom’s transportation. Decor and flowers by Creative Occasions surrounded the bride, groom, family and friends with exquisite details that will be long remembered.

A traditional head table elegantly welcomed the bride, groom and their parents. Check out the beautiful tablescape!

Menu cards were prepared by Paperie by Melissa.

The traditional wedding cake as well as the groom’s cake were designed and baked by Specialty Cakes by Emmie.

Following the Southern tradition of offering a groom’s cake that represents some aspect of the groom’s life and/or interests, an accordion cake depicted the groom’s love for playing the instrument.

A Perfect Wedding Venue!

Wanting a wedding with the feel of autumn, the bride and groom had Paul Brummer of Rooms in Bloom, create a decor and flower arrangements for an ambience depicting the beautiful wonders of the season.

The outdoors was brought indoors at the wedding venue with the magical decor and personal touches of the professionals and the groom. Even the escort cards were set in hand-carved pieces of wood, bringing the feel of the fall season, indoors!

Another personal touch from the groom were the table numbers that he cut himself.

Further creating an ambiance of the fall season, the groom made the initial-embellished log decorations for the fireplace mantel!

Check out how the bride’s desire to use warm-colored fall flowers created a room where autumn’s magic surrounded the guests!

The traditional wedding cake made from marble cake, raspberry filling and buttercream icing, baked by Publix, was displayed elegantly and surrounded by fall-colored floral bouquets. The guests couldn’t wait for the bride and groom to cut the cake so they could enjoy its deliciousness!

Rooms in Bloom hung tea lights in glass containers to the wall of windows all over the back of the celebration venue so the walls glowed with light! It was autumn magic!

The Greene’s Green Wedding at King Plow Arts Center

BOLD American Design created the decor and flower arrangements for a “green” wedding. Check out the escort cards original display in the cocktail area!

Photos depicting a year in the life of the bride and groom garnished a table where guests were encouraged to leave a personal message for the happy couple!

BOLD American also catered the absolutely delicious food for the wedding celebration.

A sweetheart table for the bride and groom featured sustainable bamboo centerpieces and green M& M’s which were also placed on all the tables.

Gigi’s Cupcakes designed, baked and displayed the enticing chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with chocolate, vanilla and green icing . YUMMY!
