The Berger Dome!

Welcome to The Berger Dome! Lindsay and Evan threw an awesome Bnai Mitzvah party their guests are not soon to forget!

berger0408Held at the Dunwoody Country Club, Lindsay and Evan chose a dual themed party; a stadium/concert arena with tickets as place cards that matched the alternating concert and baseball centerpieces. The centerpieces were so cute, featuring One Republic, Katy Perry, and Ariana Grande, as well as famous baseball matchups: Red Sox vs. Cardinals, and Brewers vs. Braves. We’d like to give a big shout out to Ballonacy for their creativity on the fun décor!

The Dunwoody Country Club produced a delicious spread of cuisine for the guests, some of which included appetizers of spring rolls and crab cakes for the adults, and soft pretzels and pigs in a blanket for the kids. Dinner included a succulent stuffed chicken, green beans and salmon for the adults, and some great kid favorites like mini sliders and tater tots.

Once all of the guests had had their fill, it was time to party to the musical stylings of MC Jamal with VIBE! He and his team rocked the house and got the crowd pumped for the rest of the evening.

berger0739

Patti Covert with Scensations photography did a fabulous job capturing the fun moments throughout the evening and Memories in a Moment provided a green screen for the guests to take their own customized photos, complete with props and different backdrops.

Once the guests had danced and partied the night away, Cotton Cravings served up sweet, sugary treats and Good Humor rolled in an ice cream cart, to the delight of the younger patrons.

berger0737

The adults enjoyed shot glasses full of assorted desserts and all of the guests headed home with a cookie, complete with a customized “Berger Dome” sticker.

berger0776

Congrats to both Evan and Lindsay on their accomplishments; we had so much fun celebrating with you in The Berger Dome!

Testimonial:

Thank you for all of your help last night and for the last couple of weeks (and months!) Everything was great and everyone had a great time. I appreciate all the help and we couldn’t have done it without you!

Spring “Pin”spiration.

Can you feel it? Spring is JUST around the corner, and we don’t know about you, but were ready for it! We decided to peruse Pinterest for a little inspiration to throw a great Spring party and found some great ideas! Here are a few:

How adorably genius is this?! Simply take paper plates and punch a hole through the side, then thread through ribbon and attach your silverware and napkin! This particular party was for 4th of July, but obviously you can change the color scheme. Now all your guests have to do is grab one thing instead of several. Genius! Click here for complete tutorial.

plates and napkins

A Spring party isn’t complete without a bowl of refreshing punch. We love this idea to bring a little extra pop to the punch bowl! Simply soak oranges, lemons, and/or limes in food coloring for 15 minutes to achieve desired color, drop in your punch and let the “oohs” and “aaahhhs” roll in! Click here for complete tutorial.

colored lemons

These Pool Noodle Luminaries are so amazingly cute and easy and are perfect for any pool party! All you need is a pool noodle, some saran wrap, a hair tie and a tea light! Click here for complete tutorial.

This is so simple and fabulous: make stencil shapes in your lawn with posterboard and flour! Simply cut out the shape of your choice and sprinkle flour over it. That’s it! AND there’s no messy clean up and it won’t damage your lawn. Win, WIN. Click here for complete tutorial and for other great backyard “hacks”.

flour decalLast, but certainly not least, check out this AWESOME idea for S’mores. Unfotunately, this photo did not have a link to a tutorial, but it seems quite simple; take a deep wooden box and fill it with pebbles, then arrange Steno lights throughout and light! Voila! You could also set up a cute S’mores station at the end like the one pictured below, with traditional S’mores toppings and a few different items to change it up.

A Modern Day “Karate Kid”

Ben’s Bar Mitzvah was not your typical sports themed party. Ben is a modern day “Karate Kid” so he opted for his theme to reflect his dedication and admiration to the practice of Karate.

Held at Temple Sinai and catered by Bold American, this party boasted a spacious and elegant venue as well as delicious cuisine!

During cocktail hour, the adults noshed on smoked salmon cornet, spring rolls, and mouth watering lamb meatballs in sake cups. Dinner featured a pasta station (heaven!) and a buffet of chicken, steak, risotto and the like.

As the party went on, guests were entertained by the musical stylings of Atlanta Fever, and Bunkado featured Japanese art, writing the kids’ names in Japanese!

Memories in a Moment (always a crowd favorite) was onsite to provide the guests a fun photo outlet, while Scensations took care to capture professional photos of all the day’s festivities.

Perhaps the most entertaining and different feature of this party was the sword presentation by Kalman Csoka. Two of Ben’s teachers delighted the crowd with a presentation of flips, kicks, sword moves, and more! This was definitely a unique part of any Mitzvah, so videographer James Futch made sure to capture this (as well as the rest of the fun) throughout the party.

ben1629

Track Seven did an amazing job on the décor, with the simple yet bold black and red colors of Japanese culture. We especially love the centerpiece shown below!

ben1227

As the evening came to a close, dessert was served and since it was Ben’s birthday, Eileen Carter Creations made a one-of-a-kind cake made to look like a Karate Ghee! Other desserts included Mimi’s caramel tarts, cookie dough on a stick, and an ice cream station. The kids loved it!

This party had it all, and we were so happy to help Ben celebrate his special day!

“Boo” Mitzvah: Scary Good Fun!

A few days shy of Halloween Cydney and Rachel threw a “Boo-Mitzvah” that would have topped any Halloween party in town! From the décor, to the food, to the fabulously freaky dessert bar, this Bnai Mitzvah celebration was one for the record books.

We especially loved the glowing orbs and amazing haunted house graphic on the back wall. Let’s Celebrate did a fabulous job making this the spookiest celebration we’ve ever seen.

Zest provided the always delectable cuisine for the evening and truly outdid themselves with the dessert bar. It had a “witches brew” cauldron filled with dry ice, giving the whole display an eerie feel and was decorated with gnarled branches, spider webs and a great Frankenstein head. The desserts themselves were the stuff of nightmares; albeit delicious ones! From spider cupcakes, to “bloody” red velvet bites, to “dirt” brownies covered in slimy (gummy) worms, we literally had to hold back the crowd until the display was complete!

Not a fun (or frightening) moment was missed as Patti with Scenesations Photography captured pictures throughout the evening. Magician Ben Goldfein also made an appearance, and pulled out lots of tricks (and treats) for the guests to enjoy.

There was certainly not a shortage of entertainment at this event! DJ Vibe rocked the house, Air Illustrations gave out tons of fun airbrush tattoos, and, always a crowd favorite, Memories in a Moment provided a green screen for all of the guests fun and freaky photos. 😉

All of the little details truly made this spooky October celebration one to be remembered. Congrats Cydney and Rachel, you both did a fabulous job!

Baby, it’s COLD Outside.

If you live anywhere in America (besides those who are lucky enough to reside in Florida), you may have noticed that it’s a bit…..nay, a LOT, cold outside. If you have an upcoming event that you didn’t anticipate cold weather for, fear not. Here are a few tips to consider to keep your guests warm and toasty.

Consider outdoor heaters. Even if your event is indoors, guests may need to step outside to make a phone call, or wait for the valet to pull their car up. Outdoor heaters put off tons of warmth and, on especially chilly nights, make a huge difference in keeping folks comfortable.

If you plan to take outdoor photos, consider bringing an oversized coat to slip in and out of between shots. Make sure to bring gloves or mittens, and rather than a hat (you wouldn’t want to mess up your hair, ladies) consider earmuffs to fight the frigid air.

Make sure your venue has a coat check option and ample staff to accommodate the number of guests who will be utilizing the service. If your venue doesn’t offer a coat check option, let us know, we can make it happen.

Consider a hot or warm signature cocktail. Guests love a signature cocktail, as it adds a different and memorable touch to your special event. Offering a fun, hot cocktail not only allows people to warm up, but to try something a bit off the beaten path. Click here for a great recipe.

Think about favors. Wouldn’t it be cute to offer hot chocolates and s’mores as the guests departed? What about a fire pit at the exit so that guests could make their sweet, gooey treats on the way out?
Or, if you’d prefer to not hand out hot liquid, and give people access to an open flame, think about scarves or shawls with your event date, logo, or whatever personalization suits your style. Both of these options allow guests to stay warm and toasty during these last (we hope!) few weeks of winter.

We hope you’ve found these toasty tips helpful. Stay warm out there!

Hannah’s glitzy and glamorous Bat Mitzvah celebration took place at the ever classy W Atlanta Midtown, and was the perfect setting for such a fabulous affair.

Hannah loves anything and everything theatre and with a Jazz musician for a grandfather, and a violin player for a brother, it’s clear that the apple didn’t fall too far from this talented family tree.

Her love for Broadway weaved itself through every aspect of this event, from the centerpieces made to look like Playbills, to the huge NYC backgrounds on either side of the room. The kids section was even made to look like it was behind the scenes at a big New York Broadway show! J Wilbur did a fabulous job bringing the mystique of New York City to life for Hannah’s big day.

Vibe Entertainment was onsite playing all of today’s hits, but Hannah and her family stole the show, performing an unforgettable number to the crowd’s delight. She sang a few hits as her brother played violin and grandfather keyboard by her side.

Vosamo Photography snapped amazing shots of all the action and helped Hannah and her family seal in precious memories they will not soon forget! Some of said shots included this A-MAZING dessert and candy bar. Every. Kids. (and adults) Dream.

And what’s a great Bat Mitzvah without a green screen?! Button it Up did not fail to delight the crowd with their fun NYC props and backgrounds.

This memorable event came to a close with a beautifully personal photo montage made by Hannah’s dad herself. We think it’s safe to say there was not a dry eye in the room!

Love is All You Need.

Can you believe it’s already February?! So far, this year is flying by and we can’t believe the month of love is already upon us.

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, you may find yourself wondering what to do this year to break the mold of your standard Valentine’s Day traditions. Below are some great (and different) ideas for America’s most popular date night.

  1. Sips Under the Sea at the Georgia Aquarium. For just ($$$$), you can enjoy a romantic evening at the world’s largest aquarium! Guests are granted full access to the aquarium, and are invited to enjoy small bites, cocktails and live music by….er….under the sea. Click here for more details and to buy tickets.
  2. Eleanor’s: The Secret Bar at Muss and Turners. There is something very romantic about a dark, quiet and cozy venue that few people know exists. Eleanor’s is a hidden gem whose secret entrance resides in the walk-in freezer at Muss and Turners. Simply give the hostess a knowing wink, and head into the fridge. Trust us, you’ll find a warm welcome on the other side, as well as a small menu with signature cocktails and small plates.
  3. Catch a Show. Right now, the Fox Theatre is boasting some of the best shows on Broadway. Wicked comes to town a mere 4 days after Valentine’s Day, and Romeo & Juliet is wowing audiences at the Cobb Theatre as we speak! Click here for a full show list and to purchase tickets.

If Atlanta is not where you call home, consider looking up similar venues in your home town. You may be surprised at what fun and different ideas your local eateries and entertainment venues have to offer on this popular night out.

If you plan on staying in and cuddling up by the fire, here are a few fabulous recipes sure to impress that special someone and to score some major point with their taste buds.

Finally, if you’re looking for something cute to DIY this holiday, check out the following links for some super sweet ideas.

1) “I Dig You”

2) “Stud Muffin”

3) “Tickled Pink”

No matter what you decide to do this Valentine’s Day; amidst the hustle, bustle, and scrambling for the perfect gift, just remember love is all you need. <3

There’s No Place Like Abby’s Bat Mitzvah!

Abby’s Bat Mitzvah transported her guests to the colorful and whimsical Land of Oz. Held (over the rainbow) at the Westin Perimeter, this fun celebration was truly one of a kind.

Abby-1182Abby-1166Deliciously Darling did a FABULOUS job on the decor. The tables were set with ‘good witch of the east’ orb centerpieces and were adorned with gorgeous, textured tablecloths. There were custom signs and cutouts of witches, munchkins and the like, as well as bright, fun cocktail napkins, true to theme of course. Our favorite? The ‘yellow brick road’ uplighting the dance floor!

Abby-1291Abby-1229

The Westin did a delicious job on the cuisine and left absolutely nothing to be desired at the dessert and candy bar. The Lollipop Guild was a fun and delicious addition to the sweetness.

Finally, Mark Mandel (always a crowd favorite) drew fantastic caricatures of the guests.

5 Ways to Throw a Winning Super Bowl Party

Well footballs fans, it is at once the greatest and saddest day of the year: Super Bowl Sunday. Why? For the awesome game (and commercials) of course….aaaaaand because it is the last game of football you will see until August.

Either way you look at it, Super Bowl Sunday is a great day to throw a party, and we’ve got some quick party tips to ensure your bash is a big win.

  • Let’s talk about food.

The good news is, Super Bowl party food is pretty simple; lots of chips, dips, burgers and hot dogs, but don’t be afraid to throw in a few easy signature dishes. We saw this great recipe in Food Network Magazine for Chex Mix Rice Krispy Treats. Simply melt 4 tbsp. of butter in a saucepan and mix in a 10 oz. bag of marshmallows over medium heat until combined. Remove from heat and mix in 6 cups of Chex Mix, press into a baking pan and let set until cooled. Voila!

  • Drink it in.

Whether your guests are big drinkers or not, it’s always good to have a few drink options on hand. Whether it be sodas, waters, or beer, make sure there’s a little something for everyone. And a signature cocktail is fun here too. Try making a big batch of Sangria as a refreshing treat.

  • Seat check.

There’s nothing worse than a party (that centers around a television set) without adequate seating. If you don’t have enough chairs, get creative and throw pillows, cushions and beanbags on the floor so that everyone has a place to catch all of the football action.

  • Kid’s Corner.

Any parent will tell you that if their kid is bored, they will most likely cause some kind of mischief. If you anticipate kids at your party, don’t sweat it. Create a kid’s Corner with games, puzzles, etc to keep them occupied while the adults enjoy some “me” time. If you don’t have kids yourself, consider grabbing some coloring books and crayons from the $1 store. Hours of entertainment.

  • Thanks for coming.

Once the play clock runs out, and everyone is gathering up to leave, you begin to wonder what to do with all of that leftover food. A great solution (we do this for our clients at all of our events) is to grab cheap plastic to-go containers. This way, everyone can take home a bit of the party and you aren’t stuck trying to resist eating all of the leftover queso for breakfast, lunch and dinner on Monday morning.

No matter what you choose to do, enjoy your time with friends and family, and may the best team win!

Saying “I Do”: A Groom’s Perspective.

To follow up our previous “sweet” post about a proposal on New Year’s Day, we thought we would stay on the topic of weddings and dive into all that it takes to plan one.

Ask any girl and she will tell you that her wedding is the most important day of her life. From deciding on décor, music, catering, to of course, the perfect dress. When it comes to weddings in general, the focus is always on the bride and it’s a long standing joke that all the groom has to do is rent a tux and show up….(and maybe taste some cake).

Well, that’s basically true, but we’re sure that grooms have SOME things to say about the big day; it is after all, the most important day of their lives too. Either that or Super Bowl Sunday….the jury is still out on that one.

We surveyed 5 veteran grooms and asked them a few simple questions regarding the big day:

  1. What were you most nervous about?
  2. What were you most excited about?
  3. Favorite part of the day?
  4. What really mattered when it was all said and done?

Answers:

  1. Four out of five said they were most nervous when they saw their fiancé walking down the aisle; that’s when it all became real, they say. The fifth, well, he was worried about tripping up on the vows that he wrote himself.
  2. Most excited? The parttttaaayyyyyyy! Every single dude answered the same on that one.
  3. Three out of five said their favorite part of the day was when they sealed the deal with a kiss, and the other two said when it was over! They were both so relieved to have all of the planning and stress behind them.
  4. What mattered most? This one was unanimous: That their (now wives) were happy and they could begin their lives together.

Moral of the story? Ladies, don’t sweat the small stuff. You may want to ensure that you pick the perfect color napkins or construct the perfect signature cocktail, but in the end, it’s all about the LOVE. <3
